Lapland War - scenario #3. A patrol rescue mission - photo version

 The situation at start. The Finns are entering at section #7. They need to search the three buildings to resuce a prisoner. There is a barn (green roof), a main residence (in center) and thi sbeing Finland,a Sauna (just below #2). 

The Germans start with three possible enemy forces (PEF). PEF1 is behind the barn, PEF2 by the sauna and PEF3 in sector #6. This is a night mission so visibility is limited.

Situation at start of turn #5

Korpi sends Jääkäri Kirsi with a message that they have found en enemy MG42 nest. Kiris is reporting to corporal (ylikersantti) Suominen (pointing)

Vänrikki (2Lt) converses with the same civilian contacted by Pylkäs earlier

Pylkäs spots a German K9 team

A German sniper takes aim at Vänrikki (2Lt) Kariluoto

Figures are pulled off to the side and lined up to see who shoots who. I normally have the figs shoot at the closest enemy, regardless of teh matchup.

Pylkäs and Kamppaala use the cover of the sauna to plan their next move.

Turn 20

The German 2/2 makes an appearance backed up by a 2nd K9 team

Lamio and a scratch built squad of HQ personnel 

While the Germans are destroying Kariluoto's squad, Pylkäs takes advantage

The remnants of 2/1 - including their MG42, make a stand

Korpi and Suominen try and use the roof for surprise

The German guard dog spoils the surprise

The kauhu forces the Germans to take cover behind the barn, where they are vulnerable to a grenade from the roof.

Pylkäs has rejoined the Kauhu and they have resuce Könsikäs (by the door)..
Time to leave before Lamio (center rear) finds us.
