Visit to Normandy - March 2023

  MY father (very much me hero in life) was a Normandy vet (As well as The Battle of the Bulge and the Rhine Jump). He was a staff sergeant with 1/507 PIR of the 82nd Airborne division. He ended up linking with LtC Timmes, where he was wounded during the attack on Amfreville on D-Day.  He later earned a Silver Star on July 7th, the day before the 507th was pulled off the line.

At the end of March 2023 my youngest son Kyle (then 21) and I were able to visit Normandy and saw many of the places where my dad fought. The picture below is Kyle and I at the monument to the 82nd Airborne at the bottom of the ridge where my father earned his Silver Star.
