Trying to get as many games as we can before my son (and last game partner) goes back to college

Carthage right flank

Opening moves - Numidians skirmish with Thracians and Greek light cav on the Carthage right

Prodromoi lancers try to run down some Balaeric slingers (they evade)

But crash into supporting infantry (African vets on the left, Spanish on the right).
It did not go well for the lancers

Gaulish cavalry contend with a unit of Thracian light infantry

On the Carthage left - Spanish med cav tangle with Thessalian cav.
The Spanish won - but it took awhile.

Alexander (far right) & his companions about to make quick work of the Spanish heavy cav

Duel of skirmishers: two units of Numidians v Agrianians

Alexander has turned a flank - but Hannibal has him cornered

The scrum in the middle. Alexanders phalanxes will do better than the Romans did

Having beat off the Gaulish lt cav - the Thracians now have to fight the heavies

Although the overall battle goes good for Alexander - things don't look good for him personally

On the left - a understrength unit of Gauls takes on Greek Hoplites;
On the right a titanic struggle between Hannibal's African vets and Alexander's Hypaspists.
The hypsters would eventually win - but it took several turns.

The end of Alexander: pinned by African vets, he is flanked by  Spanish Lt Cav
Hannibal bought it himself a turn or so earlier

This is what happens when your 22 year-old son hexes you as you roll the dice:

In the end - a fairly convincing victory for the Macedonians
A great time for all
